One of the most awful side effects of aging is losing ones memory. I found that eating oily fish not only helps the memory but helps my concentration and focus. I still have a little job playing the piano for a school of dance. I am playing for very young children and need to be very focussed, so keep including oily fish in my diet, often eating sardines just before playing the piano, and I must confess I do notice the difference in my ability to concentrate.

After I suffered a heart attack in my mid-fifties I found that I really struggled with memory and concentration, especially whilst I was on beta-blockers. I am sure in my own mind that eating oily fish was a great help in my recovery from my heart attack, and am glad to say that happened to me 20 years ago, and eventually made a good recovery with no ill effects.
